Manor Adventure 2016 - Day 2 Diary
Well what a miserable day it has been today (weather wise). It rained overnight which made for a nice muddy Obstacle Course and Blind Trail this morning. Alyssa was first to volunteer again to throw herself into each activity on the Obstacle Course after the success of yesterday’s High Ropes.
Our last activity before our evening meal was Archery - although Joe couldn’t quite believe that we still had another meal to come and got very confused about what time of day it was and how we could still have more activities to do! I think he is looking forward to bed time already. Teddy really enjoyed the archery and managed to get the highest overall individual score out of everyone, well done!
The children are just finishing off the day with a spot of Abseiling now before another early night and a busy day on the lake tomorrow.
Lyla’s photography has been superb today - you get much more natural photos when you pass the camera to one of the children instead of one of the staff members shouting ‘Say cheese!’ or ‘Happy faces!’.
Manor Adventure 2016 - Day 1 Diary
After a very early start meeting together in the Sea Terminal at 6.30am this morning we made it safely to Manor Adventure for 3pm. We did not have the usual fun and games with sickness on the boat and coach either this year which is a first! The sailing was very smooth and all the children travelled well. We didn’t get too many ‘Are we there yets’ on the long coach journey either...
Once we arrived the children had a quick introduction to Manor Adventure and then were sent straight up the high ropes. These have got higher than the course we have completed over the last two years and the children climbed up them brilliantly. Mrs Mellon and Mr Coole couldn’t believe how well they all did - they took to it like ducks to water (or should that be monkeys to trees!?!).
Everybody managed to at least have a go around the two different circuits on the lower level with many making it all the way to the top (third) level on both. The pictures below show the interesting ‘Spiderman’ style descents the children made.
We all tucked in to a lovely evening meal before getting on with Initiative Exercises this evening.
A long, exciting and busy day should mean a good night’s sleep for all tonight!
