You may use pencil, black ink or ball-point pen.
1. Candidates should realise that mark split between section A & B and balance the amount they write accordingly. It should not be necessary to write more than 180 squares to give a good answer in Section A; candidates should concentrate on answering the question set giving the information required in the best manner possible.
2. In both parts, even where the question says "Write a letter . . ." no formality is required. All that is needed is the core text of the letter, email, report or whatever and the formal salutation and closure are not required. Again candidates should be aware of the need to plan their answer to Section B carefully in order to be sure to cover all the task set giving equal weight to each part if required.
