The Baby Meerkats are Out and About!

    baby meerkats, March 2011

It looks like mum and dad are keeping a close eye on their babies, but the two youngsters still manage to get up to lots of mischief, scampering round the enclosure and fighting with each other. They even try to steal the older meerkats' food, which results in them getting a good telling-off! They are getting very good at digging holes too.

In the Kalahari desert, where wild meerkats live, babies have to learn very quickly how to survive and keep a look out for danger.

Do come and visit them soon!
    Best wishes
